Katie and Fazi’s Persian Wedding at Duportail House

Some weddings are especially memorable for the way they bring together history, culture, and family traditions. Katie and Fazi’s wedding at Duportail House in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, was a beautiful celebration filled with rich colors, meaningful Persian traditions, and heartfelt moments.

With its historic stone walls, exposed wooden beams, and rustic architectural details, Duportail House provided a wonderfully atmospheric backdrop for their day. I love photographing historic venues with character, especially when their textures and warm tones complement the beauty of a couple’s celebration.

Beautiful Persian Wedding Traditions

One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is capturing cultural traditions that tell a couple’s unique story. Katie and Fazi’s Persian wedding ceremony featured a beautiful sofreh aghd, a traditional wedding spread decorated with candles, flowers, fruit, nuts, sweets, and intricate decorative details.

One especially touching moment was when Katie’s mother rubbed sugar over a cloth held above the couple’s heads. This Persian tradition symbolizes the wish for a sweet and happy life together. Capturing moments like these is one of the reasons I love photographing weddings with meaningful cultural elements. They connect generations and preserve traditions that are deeply personal to each family.

The rich reds, golden tones, delicate flowers, and intricate patterns were also a dream to photograph. I’m drawn to beautiful colors, textures, and the interplay of light and shadow, and this celebration offered so much inspiration.

A Fun Reception Tradition

The celebration continued with one of the most entertaining Persian wedding traditions: the cake knife dance, also known as Raghseh Chaghoo. Before the couple could cut their cake, the knife was playfully passed between dancers, bringing laughter and plenty of fun to the reception.

I loved capturing the spontaneous reactions and joyful interactions. These unscripted moments often become some of the most treasured photographs because they reflect the genuine personality of a wedding day.

A Wedding Full of Character and Meaning

Katie and Fazi’s wedding was a wonderful reminder of why I love photographing celebrations that embrace culture, family, and individuality. From the historic charm of Duportail House to the symbolism of the Persian ceremony and the playful traditions of the reception, every detail helped tell their story.

Alyssa & Jim’s Knowlton Mansion Wedding | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Photographing another photographer’s wedding is always a special honor. Photographing a wedding for a photographer who shoots weddings himself makes that trust even more meaningful.

I was so honored when Alyssa and Jim chose me to photograph their wedding at Knowlton Mansion. As one of Knowlton’s preferred photographers, I’ve always loved photographing this historic Philadelphia venue, but this wedding felt particularly special. Alyssa and Jim have a deep appreciation for photography and were drawn to my hybrid film and digital approach.

They also shared my love for the things that make Knowlton Mansion so beautiful: its rich tones, historic architecture, beautiful natural light, and timeless atmosphere.

A Wedding Inspired by Photography

Photography was woven into the day in wonderfully personal ways. The couple’s appreciation for the craft was evident throughout their celebration. At the reception, antique cameras were displayed in every centerpiece—a beautiful nod to their shared passion and a detail I loved photographing.

Alyssa is a horse photographer and rider, so creating a photograph of their wedding rings resting on a horse sculpture at Knowlton Mansion felt especially fitting. It brought together two meaningful parts of their story: their love of photography and Alyssa’s love of horses.

Alyssa also had the most adorable white Doc Martin boots to wear at the reception! Love it!!!!

The Beauty of Knowlton Mansion

Alyssa’s dress was another favorite detail. The gown was elegant and timeless, but the dramatic shape of its long, lace-edged train made it especially beautiful against Knowlton’s historic surroundings.

The mansion’s patterned tile floors, stained glass windows, deep wood tones, and beautiful natural light provided endless opportunities for photographs with depth and atmosphere.

For Alyssa and Jim, their Knowlton Mansion wedding wasn't about following a trend. It was about beautiful light, meaningful details, historic beauty, and photographs that feel timeless.

I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting couple to trust me with their wedding photography.

Alyssa and Jim each have grandmothers who were guests of honor. Alyssa's grandmother is 100 years old, and Jim's grandmother is 93 years old! Each one was on the dance floor and very much a part of the celebration. I loved capturing these treasured moments!

One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look on the winding blue spiral staircase tucked inside the venue. It created such an intimate, cinematic moment — the kind of image that feels nostalgic the instant you see it.

Spring has sprung at Knowlton Mansion! Sydney & Ken’s wedding at Knowlton Mansion was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and heartfelt moments. From the start, the mansion’s architecture set the tone—rich stonework, intricate wood details, and a warmth that makes every corner feel like part of a story.

We spent time in the gardens, where the property truly shines. One of my favorite portraits was at the carriage house, framed through the soft leaves of a Japanese maple tree. It added such a romantic, layered feel that made the moment even more intimate.

Inside, the mansion is filled with character—antique furniture, stained glass, and thoughtful craftsmanship in even the smallest details. The grand staircase brought a sense of drama and elegance, while the wine cellar created the perfect nighttime atmosphere, lit by candlelight and full of quiet, intimate energy.

Old City Philadelphia Wedding Portraits

Before the ceremony and reception, we explored Old City Philadelphia for wedding portraits. This historic neighborhood is one of the best locations for Philadelphia wedding photography, offering cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and timeless character.

Their first look took place at Carpenters' Hall, followed by romantic portraits in the hidden greenery of the 18th Century Garden. We ended at the iconic columns of the Second Bank of the United States—a classic Old City backdrop that makes me feel like I am back in Rome.

Film Wedding Photography in Philadelphia

This wedding carried deep meaning, as Tom’s father was a photography professor at the University of the Arts. Because of this, photography was an important part of their story and legacy.

As a hybrid film wedding photographer in Philadelphia, I blend digital and film photography to create a timeless, emotional gallery. One of my favorite moments is inviting the bride to take a self-portrait in the mirror using my Yashica 120 medium format film camera. It creates a quiet, reflective pause in the day—something intentional, artistic, and deeply personal.

Alicia and Tom’s wedding at The Downtown Club by Cescaphe was a perfect mix of elegance, history, and intentional storytelling. From luxury city views to historic Old City Philadelphia portraits and film photography moments, every part of the day felt meaningful and timeless.

Philadelphia spring wedding

Laure and Will were excited about taking their wedding portraits at many iconic Philly locations! We began the day at the Rodin Museum, capturing timeless, elegant portraits surrounded by its classic architecture and gardens. Just steps away, we stumbled upon the most beautiful blooming tree—soft pink petals framing the couple perfectly in that dreamy spring light.

From there, we headed into the heart of the city for a fun, spontaneous stop near Philadelphia City Hall, where we grabbed that iconic, joy-filled shot right in the middle of the street.

Next, we explored behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art and over to the gazebo at Fairmount Water Works, where the river views and classic architecture added such a romantic, peaceful feel to their portraits.

We wrapped the day in West Philly at XI West Dim Sum—an incredible venue with amazing food and a vibrant atmosphere. The space leans into a modern industrial loft aesthetic, with a mix of textures that give it depth and character—think exposed wood, sleek metal details, and custom paneling layered throughout the room. Grey Towers Castle proposal

Romantic Proposal at Grey Towers Castle | Arcadia University Engagement

There’s something about photographing a proposal that fills me with joy—the anticipation, the nerves, the quiet build-up… and then that once-in-a-lifetime moment when everything changes. It’s emotional, unscripted, and completely real. And this one, set inside Grey Towers Castle at Arcadia University, felt like stepping straight into a storybook.

This couple’s story came full circle here. As former students of Arcadia, the campus already held meaning—but what he planned took it to another level entirely.

He told her he was invited back to give a talk about his sports experience at Arcadia.

Instead, he led her into the breathtaking Mirror Room—soft candlelight already flickering across the floors, the entire space glowing with warmth and intention. The look on her face said everything. Total surprise.

That’s what I love most about proposals.

The Mirror Room itself is nothing short of magical. Its painted fresco ceiling—created by French artist François Lafon—depicts the four seasons floating among clouds and zodiac paths, surrounded by delicate, ornate detailing. The mirrors, the gilded accents, the intricate plasterwork… it all reflects light in a way that feels almost cinematic. It’s romantic without trying.

Throughout the castle, every corner tells a story. Built between 1893 and 1898 as the home of sugar magnate William Welsh Harrison, the estate was designed by architect Horace Trumbauer and inspired by European castles. Inside, the rooms showcase French Renaissance and Louis XV–style design, featuring hand-carved woodwork, ornate moldings, and rich decorative elements that have withstood the test of time.

And then there’s the Grand Hall—three stories high, with its sweeping staircase and dramatic presence. The deep wood tones, rich reds, and architectural details create a sense of grandeur that feels both historic and intimate at the same time. It’s the kind of place where moments don’t just happen… they linger.

Watching these two stand in the center of it all—surrounded by candlelight, history, and so much intention—was unforgettable. From the quiet nerves before she walked in, to the instant joy when she realized what was happening, every second felt meaningful.

Grey Towers Castle isn’t just a beautiful location—it’s an experience. A place where past and present meet, where ornate design and emotional moments intertwine. For a proposal, it truly is the definition of a storybook setting.

And for me, being there to capture it?
That’s the magic.

For this wedding, the bride embraced a stunning old Hollywood–inspired look, wearing a structured satin gown with elegant off-the-shoulder sleeves and a classic veil. Her timeless style paired perfectly with the mansion’s historic interiors, creating romantic portraits that felt like scenes from a classic film.

But Knowlton Mansion weddings aren’t just about elegance—they’re about personality, too. The wedding party added a playful moment with colorful “whistle lips,” proving that even in a historic setting, couples can bring their own fun and modern touches to the celebration.

A Vintage Valentine’s Day Wedding at Knowlton Mansion

There’s something undeniably romantic about a Valentine’s Day wedding—but when you add vintage-inspired details, rich crimson tones, soft blush accents, and a historic mansion backdrop, it becomes pure magic.

This celebration at Knowlton Mansion was the perfect blend of nostalgic charm and playful personality. The mansion’s ornate woodwork, grand staircase, rich wallpaper, and old-world character created a dreamy setting that felt like stepping into a timeless love story. It’s truly the perfect backdrop for a Valentine’s-inspired wedding—moody, elegant, and full of history.

From heart-shaped details to thoughtfully curated heirloom touches, every element reflected the couple’s unique style. I especially loved photographing their rings tucked inside a vintage heart box—a subtle nod to the holiday that felt so romantic. Bryan was very excited when he told me on the phone that he just bought a white Lincoln. We made sure to include that gem in the groom's portraits. The couple also drove home in the car.

As a film hybrid photographer, I documented the day in both digital and black-and-white film. There’s just something about that grainy film texture that makes moments feel even more emotional and enduring. The black-and-white portraits, especially during getting ready, brought out a softness and authenticity that perfectly matched the vintage aesthetic.

And then there was Maddie and Bryan—their laughter, their ease, the way they leaned into every moment. Their fun, joyful demeanor radiated through every frame, whether they were lying across the grand wooden floors or getting wild on the dance floor. They didn’t just celebrate Valentine’s Day—they embodied it.

Romantic, timeless, and completely their own—this wedding was a beautiful reminder that love never goes out of style.

Judah's Dinosaur Hall Bar Mitzvah party

Judah’s Bar Mitzvah was one for the history books—literally! Celebrating in the Dinosaur Hall at the Academy of Natural Sciences is about as epic as it gets. How much fun is it to party among towering T-Rex skeletons and prehistoric giants?! The energy in that room is unmatched, and the dramatic setting made every moment feel larger than life. The Academy of Natural Sciences is such a unique Philadelphia venue—perfect for families who want a celebration that’s unforgettable, immersive, and full of wow-factor.

Before the party, we captured Judah’s synagogue portraits at Germantown Jewish Centre. The beautiful light and meaningful spaces there created the perfect backdrop for timeless, heartfelt images. I always love photographing portraits in the synagogue—it adds depth and connection to the celebration story, honoring the tradition behind the party.

Once we headed to the museum, it was time to celebrate! Rak-Dan Entertainment absolutely brought the party to life. The dance floor was packed all night, and the DJ had the kids (and adults!) fully engaged from the hora to the high-energy dance sets. There’s nothing better than seeing a group of kids completely lit up with joy—and Rak-Dan knows exactly how to make that happen. The food experience by 12th Street Catering was a perfect blend of delicious options for the adults and lots of fun food for the kids, like a soft pretzel bar and sliders to grab while dancing! All of the cocktail hour stations were on the mezzanine level balcony, so the adults could watch the dance floor from above.

Judah’s Bar Mitzvah was the perfect blend of meaningful tradition and full-on fun. From sacred moments at Germantown Jewish Centre to dancing beneath dinosaurs at the Academy of Natural Sciences, it was a celebration no one will ever forget. 🦖✨

Golden Hour Family Sessions at Andorra Meadows
There’s nothing I love more as a family photographer than capturing real, joyful moments in nature—especially at Andorra Meadows in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia. This meadow is one of my favorite locations, with its tall golden grasses and dreamy light that turns absolutely magical during golden hour.

These sessions feel even more special when the family dog—the first “baby”—joins in. I love photographing pups alongside their humans; they bring so much personality to the session.

There’s something undeniably magical about autumn weddings in PA—the golden light, the crisp air, and the rich palette of the changing leaves. This intimate Schwenksville, PA barn wedding captured all of that and more, blending rustic charm with genuine emotion and laughter.

The couple celebrated their day on a private family friend’s property. From the start, the atmosphere felt personal and heartfelt—every detail reflected who they are. Their ceremony was small and touching, with the afternoon sunlight filtering through the trees in a way that seemed almost cinematic.

The reception took place inside a beautifully decorated barn, draped in soft fabric and glowing with string lights. The tables were adorned with cozy autumn-inspired details—textured linens, amber bottles, and candles that set the perfect tone for an evening of celebration. Guests enjoyed a relaxed and delicious meal catered by Southbound BBQ Co., whose savory smoked dishes were the perfect match for the warm, rustic atmosphere. The scent of BBQ in the crisp fall air made the evening feel like a true harvest celebration. Did I mention, I looooved the smoked beef brisket!?

And the night didn’t stop there—the dance floor came alive with incredible live music from Nik Greeley & the Operators. Their energy brought everyone to their feet, turning the adjoined tent into a joyful, glowing scene of celebration and movement. There’s something special about live music at a barn wedding—it adds soul and connection to every moment.

One of my favorite parts of the day was photographing the couple with the friendly goats that lived on the property. When one curious goat tried to nibble on the bouquet, everyone burst out laughing—it was a moment of pure joy and spontaneity that perfectly captured their playful personalities.

During cocktail hour, guests relaxed with cornhole and axe throwing, adding to the fun, laid-back vibe. This wedding was the perfect mix of heartfelt, rustic, and fun—the kind of day that reminds me why I love being a wedding photographer. The golden autumn light, the deep connection between everyone present, and the laughter echoing through the trees made it a celebration to remember. The night had a perfect, sweet ending with an elaborate Pittsburgh cookie tradition. The whole family contributed their special cookie recipes to the deliciously packed table. Yum!

An intimate celebration among history, light, and solitude.

Some weddings feel like stories already written—and this one, set among the historic grounds of Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, was one of them.

This couple had their very first date at a market event on these same grounds. Drawn back by the arboretum’s beauty and the quiet peace it offers, they knew it was the perfect place to exchange vows surrounded by the same trees and paths that marked the start of their story.

Their first look beneath a draping willow tree was the kind of moment photographers dream of—soft light filtering through leaves, emotion suspended in time. The bride, who often visits Laurel Hill to read and find solitude, seemed completely at home here, grounded and glowing in the fall sunlight.

Their ceremony unfolded beneath the outstretched branches of a mature tree, family gathered close in the golden October light. It was a simple, meaningful celebration that perfectly reflected who they are—unconventional, creative, and deeply intentional.

As a hybrid film and digital photographer, I love working with couples who appreciate the artistry of the process. Shooting part of their day on film allowed me to honor the timelessness of their setting—the mix of texture, tone, and quiet stillness that only film can translate.

Penelope's Bat Mitzvah and Top Golf party

Penelope’s Bat Mitzvah day was such a blast to photograph! We started with a family portrait session at Main Line Reform Temple. The temple is such a beautiful backdrop, and it was the perfect spot to capture Penelope with her family before all the big celebrations began. She looked amazing in her light blue dress—stylish, fun, and completely her.

The celebration kicked off at Topgolf King of Prussia, and it was the perfect choice for a teen party. Topgolf has such a great energy—part hangout space, part game, part party! The kids loved playing and cheering each other on, and the outdoor patio was ideal for gathering, relaxing, and capturing some extra-fun shots.

As a photographer (and a mom of a teenager myself), I love connecting with my Mitzvah clients. I know how much this milestone means—for the teen stepping into such an important new chapter, and for the parents watching with so much pride. Seeing Penelope laugh with her friends, strike her poses with confidence, and soak in all the joy of her day made me so happy for her and her family.

From sweet family moments at the temple to big smiles and golf swings at the party, Penelope’s Bat Mitzvah was filled with joy and laughter. I loved being part of her day and documenting all the fun along the way.

Maureen and Mario celebrated their wedding at the timeless Knowlton Mansion , a Victorian estate built in the 1880s. Known for its intricate architecture, stonework, and stained glass windows, the mansion offers a rich historic backdrop paired with lush gardens and glowing natural light.

As a hybrid film and digital photographer, I loved blending the dreamy greens of Fujifilm film with the flexibility of digital. The soft light across the gardens and colorful glow inside the mansion created luminous, artful images that tell their story with both modern and classic depth.

One of the sweetest moments was the inclusion of their beloved dog, Katrina, in the ceremony—such a personal touch that made the day feel uniquely theirs. The reception, perfectly catered by Conroy Catering, brought elegant dining and service that matched the beauty of the setting.

Engagement Sessions at Princeton University: A Photographer’s Guide

Princeton University’s campus in Princeton, New Jersey, is one of the most beautiful and timeless places for an engagement session. Its historic architecture, ivy-covered walls, and romantic pathways create a setting that feels like stepping into a European city. For couples, it offers an elegant backdrop with both grandeur and intimacy.

Recently, I photographed an engagement session here, and it showcased everything that makes Princeton so magical. My couple brought incredible style—she in a red velvet dress that popped against the stone and greenery, and he in a sharp blue suit that added polish and sophistication. Together, they fit right in among Princeton’s historic architecture, which elevated their portraits to feel timeless and cinematic.

Here’s a guide to some of the best photo locations on campus, featuring some favorites from this session below.

1. Nassau Hall

As the centerpiece of campus, Nassau Hall is a must for engagement portraits. The stone facade, massive wooden doors, and tall windows bring a sense of history and sophistication. I photographed the back of the building as it has an open lawn with great light and ivy-covered facade—the red velvet gown contrasting beautifully against the ivy. I had the couple run back and forth in the open lawn for playfulness. Nassau Hall is perfect for couples who want a touch of grandeur in their images.

2. Clio and Whig Halls

Across from each other on Cannon Green, Clio Hall and Whig Hall are two neoclassical landmarks that immediately take you back to another time. With their grand white columns, balanced facades, and graceful staircases, they are among the most scenic spots on campus.

During this session, the couple’s outfits paired perfectly with the architecture. The deep red velvet dress stood out against the creamy tones of the columns, while his blue suit added contrast and balance. Whether posed at the base of the steps or framed between the soaring pillars, these buildings add an unmistakable touch of formality and romance to engagement portraits.

3. Rockefeller College Arches

If there’s one spot on campus that feels truly cinematic, it’s the arches at Rockefeller College. These Gothic-style stone archways create natural frames for portraits, making couples look like they’ve stepped into a fairytale. The play of light and shadow through the arches is a true Chiaroscuro look. I love the drama of these portraits

4. Archways and Courtyards

Beyond Rockefeller College, Princeton has no shortage of hidden archways and quiet courtyards. These tucked-away corners are perfect for sweet, candid portraits. They’re especially magical when bathed in warm evening light, offering couples a quieter, more intimate atmosphere in the midst of the grand architecture.

5. Princeton University Chapel

While we did not have time to get across campus, another highlight of Princeton is the University Chapel, one of the most breathtaking examples of collegiate Gothic architecture in the country. With soaring arche
s, intricate stone carvings, and glowing stained glass, it adds a dramatic, romantic touch. Even if you don’t step inside, the exterior archways create stunning frames for engagement portraits.

There’s something timelessly romantic about a micro wedding—especially when it’s hosted at Spring Mill Café. Nestled in a charming 19th-century inn in Conshohocken, this French country-style venue creates an ambiance that feels straight out of Provence. With its warm candlelight, rustic wood beams, and cozy European décor, Spring Mill Café is a dream location for couples seeking an elegant, intimate affair.

As a wedding photographer with a fine art background, I’m always drawn to the light, texture, and emotion of the day. At this wedding, everything aligned beautifully—from the couple’s radiant joy to the painterly florals that filled the room. I photographed Sarah and Max's wedding at Portico at Awbury Arboretum. This wedding was special to me. Not only did I know Sarah as a child, but her dad was a wedding photographer who had helped me at the beginning of my career. We worked together at the same studio (in the analog days, where we shot on film). He was a patient and talented mentor and encouraged me to go out on my own. So I certainly wanted to capture some of this wedding on still film. Sarah and Max have such a sweet way of showing affection, and it truly felt like they were living in the moment throughout the day! I felt so creative and truly myself as a photographer in this incredible atmosphere and venue. When you step onto the grounds of Portico at Awbury Arboretum, you’re instantly enveloped by the beauty of its 55 acres of verdant landscape, stone pathways, and centuries-old trees. Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic Germantown, this venue offers a magical blend of natural elegance and timeless charm. Raeph's Bar Mitzvah at Lacocca Conference Center

I photographed Raeph's Bar Mitzvah portrait session at Temple Beth El. Then his party was at the Lacocca Conference Center at Lehigh University. Such a beautiful modern space up at the top of the campus and enclosed in huge glass windows. I just love the energy I get from documenting Mitzvah parties. These kids were great and had a blast! Mazel Tov to Raeph!

Chiaroscuro light in photography

I was fortunate to be able to study a semester in Rome during my Tyler college career. That semester had a large impact on who I became as a photographer. I not only flourished in capturing street photography but was very influenced by the Renaissance painters. Most influential to me was Caravaggio who mastered the technique of Chiaroscuro.

Chiaroscuro which translates to Light/Dark, is an artistic lighting effect which consists of highlighting the subject through definition of light and shadows. Often the extreme light comes from the side and adds volume and modeling to the subject vs. a direct frontal light which is more flat.

I remember stepping into the San Luigi deli Francesi church one day. I was surprised to recognize the painting by Caravaggio called “The Calling of St. Matthew” from my art history textbooks. I was overcome with emotion to see the real painting in life-size. The nuances of light and dark came alive after I paid a coin to turn the light on over the painting. In my past painting classes, I had also spent time trying to duplicate this Caravaggio using a small print from a book. So to see the masterpiece in front of me flooded my body in tears and delight! This painting depicts St. Matthews's spiritual awakening, and calling which was relevant, now that I look back. I was raised Quaker, so my first exposure to the Catholic bible’s depictions was somewhat new to me. I was seeing the light in art form everywhere in Rome and knew I wanted to duplicate that kind of beauty and emotion in my own work. I started looking for Chiaroscuro light everywhere. I also really love the Dutch artist Vermeer’s “Girl with the Pearl Earring”. It evokes the beauty of Chiaroscuro in a close-up portrait. I try to duplicate this with my bridal window portraits when she is getting ready.

When looking for this light on a wedding day I am building this texture, volume, sense of dimension and grace. I believe there is a wonderful light and vibration in every being. It shines upon couples at the highest level on their wedding day. It is called love and hope. And I am most fortunate to be a part of that.

Knowlton Mansion in NorthEast Philly was designed in the Gothic Revival style by renowned 19th century architect Frank Furness. I've been working there for years and highly recommend the space, and Conroy Catering is the best!

Also, Greenville Country Club, which was originally a home on the Dupont estate, has large windows and gorgeous dark wood work, among trees and gardens.

The Audubon Center, once the estate of famed naturalist and illustrator, John James Audubon, is a beautiful retreat. There is a barn for cocktail hour that has textured walls and light streaming through its vast space.

Brook and Steve's Kimberton Inn wedding

Brook and Steve got married at the Church of St. Mary's in Schwenksville, PA and had their portraits and reception at the quaint Kimberton Inn.The fall golden hour was upon us in this country setting. The tall reeds were blowing in the wind, golden light draped the red mill with plenty of room to spread out with the wedding party. There was even a cute little bridge to get some reflection photos. You may notice some photos from this wedding carry a different look. That is because some are film! I shot a little film at this wedding and did a hybrid of film and digital. I just love the grain in film and the nostalgic look was ideal for this historic venue. I learned the art of film back in my days at Tyler school of Art. So it is second nature to me and I just love bringing it back! Please ask about this option, it is available with some packages.

The Willows golden hour family session

I photographed this beautiful family at golden hour at The Willows Park Preserve in Villanova, PA. We had that perfect golden hour fall light. I really love the Willows as I have fond memories there as a child feeding the ducks with my mom. I photographed this couple's wedding at the Spring Mill Cafe, baby shower, then in home baby portraits a few years ago. It's always such an honor to be invited back into lives to document growing families and milestones. This little guy was a joy to photograph and run around with!

Erin and Colin got married at Bar Sera in Conshohocken. They had a first look and family portraits on the walking path down by the Schuylkill river on a gorgeous day! Duportail house wedding

Rachel and Corey got married at the Duportail House in Chesterbrook, PA @duportailhouse. I love working at this historic venue for the unique pastoral setting, both the barn and the house are full of character and the reception happens both indoors and outside using the house, tented patio and grounds. I love taking photographs behind the barn using the stone and old door along with pathways winding in between trees.

The florals were by @revelflowercompany. I just loved the use of fall inspired colors, unique textures and creativity. Rachel's bouquet was GORGEOUS!

Violet's Sweet 16 Midnight Garden Party

The stunning Violet had a very unique party for her Sweet 16. The Midnight Garden Party theme was very appropriate for her event at the Spring Mill Cafe. I got to take the most amazing photos and have fun with great teenagers! The amazing Nathan from Simply Fab Flowers did a killer job at event planning, styling, and designing the party's decor and activities. The place was decked out with flowers, plants, candy apples and custom desserts, exotic drinks with dry ice and edible flowers, gluten free desserts, personalized signs, a pink phone booth, and pink photo booth. There was also a a very talented caricature artist, a karaoke machine, a take home flower bar, green walls, and personalized swag to take home. Did I mention the amazing food of butlered Hors d'oeuvres and the great waitstaff at Spring Mill? What a great night!

I am very excited about these photos from this amazing party. Happy birthday Violet! Your sweet 16 was truly sweet and unique, just like you!

Kathleen and Matthew got married at Old St. Joseph's church in Old City. This is the oldest Catholic church in Philadelphia and a hidden gem. It's quaint courtyard and architecture feel like you've stepped back in time. We photographed the bridal party in the historic area of 2nd Bank and the 18th century garden. What a beautiful day we had! The reception was at the Philadelphia Marriott in Old City who hosted an amazing party.

I worked with Sarah's father in the beginning of my photography career. He was a coworker in the first studio I worked in. I went out on some of my first wedding shoots with him and he was a great patient teacher. I also use to babysit his daughter. Well, his daughter is getting married and they asked me to photograph it! What an honor. I was a little nervous myself doing the engagement session. I wanted to do an incredible job for them. It was great seeing Sarah again as an adult. Sarah and Max were both rowers so the boathouse row, waterworks and the Schuylkill river were important to them. It was great to get to know this young vibrant couple!

Jana and Ted got married on May 4th, 2024 at Spring Mill Cafe in Conshohocken. This french inspired restaurant with lots of charm is perfect for intimate weddings. Nathan from Simply Fab Flowers gave this wedding the perfect touch with his colorful flowers and succulents designs. I just loved Jana's dress with pops of bright color. Her stunning blue eyes sparkled in every photo! Her elegance looks like a painting in some of the light that streams into the barn. Wow what a gorgeous day!

Knowlton Mansion is one of my favorite venues because it is beautiful inside and out. Outdoors has picturesque flowers, trees, gardens, a barn, walkways and a ceremony site. Inside its full of old world charm, stained glass, hardwood flooring, antiques, and lots of gorgeous light. I tell my clients I always feel like home photographing there.

Lilian's Bat Mitzvah

I am really enjoying Mitzvahs these days. (Maybe it is because my own son is 12 years old.) I feel so much pride for each Mitzvah and my heart swells with joy for them! Lilian's spirit shows much consideration for others and she is so loving towards her younger sister and family. This Mitzvah was local for me in Mt. Airy. It was at the Germantown Jewish Centre and celebration at the Valley Green Inn. The Valley Green Inn in the Wissahickon is a great place for this kind of party. The energy of the woods vibes with the teens! The DJ Don was so great with the kids and had the dance party going the whole time!

I photographed Summer's Bat Mitzvah at the beautiful Congregation Beth Or. I just love photographing this age! Summer is full of personality and sweetness that I have enjoyed photographing since she was little. The event planner and stylist did a great job with the "summer" theme using beach themed decor seashells, sand and beach balls which were a hit! The food by AnneMarie's Cuisine was amazing. The kids had a blast which is always my favorite to document. The music, dancing and the kid's energy stayed with me for days!

Danna and Barney got married on a rainy day this past spring at the Anthony Wayne House. The rain did not stop us from having fun and photographing around the grounds! I just love this first photo of the bridal party tossing their umbrellas. Danna's rain boots came in handy and made for some awesome shots. I just love the cherry tree blossoms on their Chuppah, so pretty. Such beautiful florals by Amaranth Florist. The tent at this venue has a clear spot in the middle and allows natural light to come streaming in. Love it and just loved working at this venue! Congratulations to Danna and Barney!

I am enjoying photographing more Mitzvah's these days and this one was amazing! I photographed Zoey as a baby with her parents and am so thankful they asked me back to photograph her Mitzvah party. Zoey is so full of joy, laughter, beauty and just an amazing girl! I loved her sneakers and gown. We had so much fun running in the grass and getting action shots jumping in the air! The reception was amazing at Congregation Kol Ami in Cherry Hill, NJ where Foodwerx put out incredible food. The balloon sculptures were by Illiano events. Congratulations Zoey!

I photographed baby Wesley at three months old in his grandparent's home. I just love these natural, relaxed home sessions. The baby was older and awake compared to a newborn session, so lots of great expressions. His cheeks and rolls are so adorable! We even got the dogs in a family shot!

First baby session of the year was a success! I photographed baby Judy at 6 weeks old with her loving parents and her 2.5 month old cousin joined in too. She was so good through the session and showed me her beautiful blue eyes.

Brendan and Stephen's William Penn Inn wedding

Art museum engagement session

I'm loving this engagement session at the art museum. These guys are just so full of joy and smiles! I love all the "cracking up" laughing photos. They actually got married at home last December because their reception rescheduled because of covid. I'm looking forward to photographing the big celebration this December!

Sarah's baby shower

I photographed Sarah's baby shower at the peaceful and elegant Bolingbroke Mansion. Such a perfect spot for a baby shower and maternity photos in one! Sarah was just glowing in these photos! Such gorgeous architecture, trees, and gardens envelope this space. Catering by Design does an amazing job of presentation and attention to details with the food and coordination. Simply fabulous Flowers had the place decked out in cute blue centerpieces and accents around the mansion. Excitement and joy was felt as the guests played games centered around the anticipation of the baby!

In home lifestyle newborn session

Adorable baby Thomas and his fur brother Mickey were too cute together! Mickey the dog wanted to be by the baby and on camera at all times. I photographed Kaitlin and Ian's wedding just over two years ago, so it was a pleasure to be invited back to their home. This session was done in their gorgeous nursery with light color palettes and natural elements and textures. Just my style!
